A charming music-driven road movie set against some spectacular Australian scenery, Bran Nue Dae stars Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush (The King's Speech). Loosely based on one of Australia's most popular musicals, Bran Nue Dae a foot stomping tour-de-force set in the late 1960s, which follows the romantic adventures of a young aboriginal boy (Rocky McKenzie) who falls foul of Father Benedictus (Rush), his school's iron-willed headmaster and runs away. Stranded in Perth, he is befriended by Uncle Tadpole (Ernie Dingo), a streetwise character who offers to help him get back home, and they hit the highway, catching rides with a handful of colourful strangers, with Father Benedictus in hot pursuit.
