cheers for the info james ill bear them in mind as my next purchase is a very big plasma/lcd
Hi guys,
This isn't a loophole or secret but I hope it is relevant information for anyone wanting to purchase a new TV in the UK.
I have just sorted a deal for my mom on a new tv. She wanted a 50" plasma, so after much googling I found a pretty good deal on a Samsung. The price was £700, and I managed to get a 5 year warranty for £70. Now personally I hate the idea of a warranty but in this case with it being such a small amount I told her to go for it. The tv was £950 at currys with £350 for the warranty, so this was a good deal in my eyes. We got it from Richer Sounds, Birmingham. They have several shops and also an internet business, and I am in no way affiliated with them. I'm just trying to give some good advice (well, what I think anyway).
Another deal I sorted out was for a mate who wanted a new Samsung LCD rose black 40". Currys wanted £800 with standard warranty, we got it from House of Fraser for £795 with 5 year warranty free.
Now, as I have already said I hate warranties as they are usually overpriced junk but in these case it seems worth it to me. Richer Sounds basically charge 10% extra to extend the standard by 4 years and House of Fraser give it as standard, you just need to keep the receipt. John Lewis and Marks and Spencer also do the same with 5 years as standard.
As I said earlier I am not affiliated with any of the mentioned companies, I just think that its woth letting other people know what I've found in the hope that they can get a good deal.
