    Crime and Debt

    Have you noticed.........

On the whole people who say that 'crime' is down to individuals being evil think that personal debt is the fault of the government.

And people who believe that crime is the fault of society think that individual debt is the fault of the debtor and nothing to do with the Gov

Personal responsibilty or 'the fault of the Gov' ?

Bleedin' heart Liberals reckon that broken homes, poverty and lack of opportunity 'cause' people to be criminals. It's not their fault, they were abused as kids ! Yet people racking up huge debts on credit cards and mortgages are not victims of society but greedy dumbos who's eyes are bigger than their wallets.

Yer typical Tory believes that criminals are responsible for their own criminal behaviour and points to all the poor and underprivileged people who don't commit crime..........yet they think people with massive personal debts are the victim of NuLab society

    Strange innit ?..............

I would say its the exact opposite, people who believe crime is down the the individual also believe debt is down to the individual and tend to be Tory, Conservative thought holds that the individual is the most important political unit

And most people who believe crime is the fault of society also believe debt is the fault of society in the form of big business and tend to be socialists who think external events/influences that can be controlled centrally shape societies reaction

I really don't know how you reached your conclusions?

Why are you in the sport forum? You should be in the 'My life is rubbish and my glass is half empty' forum.

Well.........basically it's the 'hang 'em and flog 'em' brigade who reckon that the debt crisis is the fault of the Government, not the borrowers (or the lenders come to that)

Bleedin heart Liberals are saying that nobody forces people to rack up credit card debts and take out 6 times salary mortgages, it's their own fault.

I guess I'm not a typical Tory, and I think your post is a bit confused.

If you want to generalise, most Labour supporters might blame society or capitalism for crime and blame the nasty banks / capitalism for making people get too far in debt.

Most Tories would believe both sets of people have similar responsibilities for their actions.

Now Tories will also agree that there needs to be various state controlled safeguards to stop crime getting out of hand and borrowing getting out of hand, I think that might be what you are seeing some of.

The debt they are talking about generally is public sector debt, government debt
    Are they? Who?

Regardless of the above, I would expect crime to rise as this financial situation worsens.

Dishonest crimes, such as fraud, robbery, burglary etc. I suspect will see a rise over the time that this country has financial issues.

Of course I could be wrong, this is after all just my own personal view and suspicion, but with more and more people becoming unemployed, more people loosing what they used to have and more people finding it harder to manage day by day I could be right.
