"Buzz" surrounded the iPhone - 09/01/2008
The release of highly-anticipated iPhone was surrounded with a "huge amount of buzz", according to a technology expert.
Jonathan Aber of Ovum illustrated that despite a feeling of jadedness in the press on the eve of its launch, most people were excited about its release as very few consumers had ever seen one before.

He acknowledged that there was still a high amount of "consumer interest" in the device but that its high price may have put off some potential customers.
"More so in the UK than in the US because we're used to 100 per cent device subsidies over here," Mr Aber confirmed.
Despite a lack of any significant discounts, he indicated that the majority of consumers were not concerned with the 2G vs 3G debate.
Mr Aber confirmed that most consumers were looking for a "good user experience" and he added that a lot of people would be unaware of the difference between 2G and 3G.
Some controversy surrounded the release of the Apple iPhone after it was announced that it would only be sold on the O2 network with an 18-month contract.
