Online eco-store named top for 2007 - 09/01/2008

An online retailer of environmentally-friendly products has been named as one of the winners of Yahoo's Finds of the Year campaign.

The search engine compiles an annual list of the most innovative and forward-thinking websites and Nigel's Eco Store (www.nigelsecostore.com) bagged top place for the shopping category.

Nigel's Eco Store only sells products that they have touched, seen, tried or used, ensuring that every item of stock is guaranteed to give customer satisfaction.

Products the site offers include eco staplers that do not use staples, solar-powered electric shavers and a kettle that allows users to save money as well as energy.

Salim Mitha, senior European director of Yahoo and a member of the judging panel, highlighted that ethical considerations were identified in many of the winners.

"We've seen a big trend in socially aware sites - trying to be more ethical, more eco-friendly," he illustrated.

The online store also stocks eco-friendly gift boxes that contain natural, organic and handmade goodies, ideal for a friend or relative.
