Pret a Manger hit by fake vouchers
It’s happened to the great and the good of the high street and Pret A Manger are no exception. The upmarket sandwich chain has been hit by a fake voucher scam that has been circulating around offices up and down the country.
Hungry workers have been refused the ‘Buy one get one free’ offer at the counter that applied on sandwiches, soup and coffee until December 16.
The email hit inboxes on Friday and since then hundreds of customers have been presenting their vouchers at Pret.
Last year both Gap and Threshers were stung by voucher promotions.
Last Christmas clothing retailer Gap was also the victim of fake vouchers, after bargain hunters doctored 30% off coupons to make them offer double the amount.
Threshers was flooded with fake vouchers promising 40% off after emails sent to business partners were forwarded on to friends and family.

Pret spokesperson dismissed the vouchers as a ‘hoax’ but added that Pret employees had been advised to “use their best judgement to keep customers happy,” but it would not include a ‘buy one get one free’ offer.
Pret reminded customers that it promotes all offers at the chain on its website during the time of running.
