Eager January shoppers have been quick to make Leona Lewis' debut album top of the charts once again this week.

The winner of last year's X Factor competition, Lewis stayed at number one with Spirit, which includes her chart-topping single Bleeding Love.

Sales in many retail outlets have seen thousands upon thousands of consumers head out to bag themselves a bargain - and it is likely that lots of them decided to purchase Spirit while browsing around the shops.

Lewis is followed in the album chart by Westlife, whose Back Home collection of tracks occupied the number two spot for another week, according to the Official UK Charts Company.

Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, Eagles and Led Zeppelin also featured in the top ten, alongside other big hitters such as Shayne Ward, Take That and both the regular and deluxe versions of Amy Winehouse smash neo-soul album Back to Black.
