News > 'Acer shakes up projector pricing'

The "projector price goalposts" have been moved again as Acer introduces a budget projector to its range, according to trustedreviews.com.
Acer's new H5350 Digital Light Processing (DLP) projector costs less than £500, but the technology firm claims the small price tag doesn't have an impact on the devices performance.
The company claims that their new DLP projector is suitable for home cinema use, has a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and gives out 2,000 lumens of light.
Despite not supporting the standard high-definition (HD) resolution of 1080p, techradar.com claims the projector produces a "surprisingly sharp" and "exceptionally bright" HD image that is suitable for films and video games.
With a HDMI port, an S-Video socket and a standard VGA connector the H5350 can easily be coupled to a games console or a PC.
In a report by PC Magazine the publication claims that research from Global Insight shows Europe, Africa and the Middle East will overtake the US in terms of ICT purchases this year.
