News > Alexa Chung on being a fashion icon

Television presenter and former model Alexa Chung has revealed that her fashion icon was a Spice Girl.
Dressed as a little girl in the colourful, psychedelic Oilily label by her mother, she confided to the Times Online that Geri Halliwell has lovely hair and she also idolised Star Wars character Princess Leia.
As she grew up, she developed a taste for classical accessories like preppy scarves and satchels and a passion for all things 60s and 70s and spends hours rifling the rails in vintage shops.
"I have a stylist, Steph Stephens, who used to be the editor at ElleGirl, but she's more of a mate and we go shopping together," Ms Chung said.
She also said she regretted not being able to star in the Chanel advert; Keira Knightly currently has that honour.
Wikipedia describes the T4 Popworld presenter as being recognisable for her "laid-back, quirky London street chic style".
