Glossy magazines may have you believe that pregnant celebrities continue to carry on with their glamorous lifestyles as normal, but Kirstie Allsopp has revealed that is not always the case.
The queen of property programmes told Fabulous magazine she suffered so badly with morning sickness when she was expecting her son Bay Atlas that she ended up in hospital.
Allsopp is now pregnant for a second time and the experience has been even worse.
"I was being sick four to five times a day 18 weeks into my pregnancy. All I could manage to eat was mashed potato," she explained.
Responding to her story, GMTV's Dr Hilary Jones said morning sickness was normally a sign of a healthy baby.
He also indicated that the most effective remedies were more likely to be found at Tesco Direct than a pharmacist, explaining that ginger biscuits and camomile tea have a soothing effect.
