News > Another early start for new 3G iPhone customers?

Those hoping to get their hands on the new 3G iPhone may have another early start ahead of them as the first smartphones may be leaving O2 stores at 7am on July 11th, it has been reported.
MacRumors forum contributor 'Johnpartridge' gleaned the details about the release of the device from an O2 insider, according to reghardware.co.uk.
However, according to other unconfirmed reports, customers will have to wait until 8am on the day to get one of Apple's new phones, phonesreview.co.uk has claimed.
Last year, customers flocked to stores for 6am to snap up the phones and reghardware.co.uk is sceptical that an O2 employee would reveal so many details about the launch of the upgraded model.
Furthermore, consumers may be pleased to hear that the next generation iPhone will be cheaper than its predecessor, retailing for about $199 (£99), according to product-reviews.net.
It will also have more features, such as a global positioning system.
