Pop-rock singer Avril Lavigne has announced she is developing a fragrance and a clothing line, according to US entertainment programme Access Hollywood.
Avril, who is set to embark on a world tour at the beginning of March, plans to begin developing her new products when she returns from her travels.
"I wanted to own a company and really be able to be a designer, be creative," she said.
Avril added that she is excited to try something new, as she has been performing for seven years. She said she is particularly excited about the visual aspect of designing a clothing line.
"I finally found someone to partner up with and I'm very excited about it because I love clothes," she added.
Last week, it emerged that fellow singer and former Hear'Say member Myleene Klass is also embarking on a celebrity design project.
The new mum announced that her Baby K line, developed for infants and toddlers up to the age of three, will be available in Mothercare stores in August 2008.
