Princess Beatrice is to be the new muse for fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, it has been revealed.
Bang Media International reported that Cavalli wants to design a new collection with the 19-year-old in mind because he thinks she looks "great".
The teenager has been the subject of media criticism recently after she was photographed in a bikini on the beach.
Some newspaper columnists branded Beatrice too curvy to be wearing the swimwear, leading her mother Sarah Ferguson to brand the views unfair.
The duchess, who is a spokeswoman for healthy eating club Weight Watchers, remarked: "They have been outrageous calling her such horrible names. I just think they ought to take more responsibility."
Beatrice was featured in a number of fashion columns last month for her choice of headwear at her cousin Peter Phillips's wedding. She wore an elaborate and colourful butterfly creation by exclusive hat designer Philip Treacy.
