Britons spend on average almost £50,000 on gadgets in their lifetime, according to Reevoo.
The website's research found that households in the UK go through more than 250 electrical gadgets over a 60 year period.
According to the online poll of more than 3,000 people, replacing the family PC was the most expensive as it was replaced every four years at a cost of £500 a time.
Meanwhile an oven had to be replaced on average every six years, costing consumers £545 each time.
Chris Winstanley, spokesman for Reevoo said: "What this poll does reveal is that Brits are spending an average of £815.66 every year on replacing their used, broken or out-dated electrical items."
The research showed that Brits spend £48,940 on gadgets during their lifetime.
In related news, the iPhone was named the gadget of the year in T3's readers' poll conducted through the magazine's website.
