Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV) has topped the all-formats games chart in its first week of release, outselling former number one Wii Fit by nine copies to one last week.
New data from Chart Track has shown that GTA IV sold 631,000 copies in its first week at retailers such as HMV and Game, while sales of Wii Fit dropped by 58 per cent compared with last week's figures.
Elsewhere on the all-format games chart, Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games remained at number three, while Wii Play leaped 11 spots from number 15 to number four.
Former number one Mario Kart Wii slipped from number two to number five this week as Gran Turismo 5: Prologue fell two positions from number four to number six.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 charted at number seven this week, followed by Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at number eight and Dr Kawashima's Brain Training at number nine.
Finally, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 charted at number ten.
