Cheeky Cockney duo Chas and Dave have announced that they will no longer be pleasing fans with their knees-up pop as they are to go their separate ways.
The amicable split was brought about by the recent death of Sue Peacock, the wife of Dave from the famous London pop twosome, which has provoked him to leave the gigging scene after 35 years.
Announcing the news, bandmate Chas Hodges told the Daily Mail that it was "the end of an era" but he respects Dave's choice to concentrate on his hobbies of riding horses and painting gypsy wagons.
He continued: "I still see Dave every week and he's coping but I don't think he wanted to do the gigging any more. Chas and Dave is a legendary name but I shall be taking over the gigs. I'll be doing the old songs as well as new ones and talking about Dave during the show."
The band are famous for tongue-in-cheek hits such as Rabbit, Snooker Loopy and Ain't No Pleasing You and played to a packed-out tent at the Glastonbury festival (pictured) in 2005.
