With Valentine's Day approaching, it might be time to start thinking about what to buy for your loved one.
While chocolates, flowers or a nice evening out are all great ideas, splashing out on a city break could be ideal, especially if it is a surprise gift!
This week a spokesperson for the Association of Independent Tour Operators discussed the popularity of such holidays and said there are definitely "old favourites" when it comes to destinations.
Paris, Venice and Rome are top of this list for many people, but he added that other European locations such as Iceland and Monaco were also proving a hit.
"Even Reykjavik is quite popular. It's a little bit off the beaten track because people want to do something a little bit different," he said.
In addition, Barcelona was mentioned as a popular choice, not just for Valentine's Day but all year round.
