Those with video game discount codes may be interested to know Sid Meier's Civilization franchise has been adapted for games consoles for the first time with the release of Civilization Revolution.
Available worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and on sale for the Nintendo DS in North America, the title includes a new multiplayer component, enabling users to challenge other players as they compete to become the world's greatest ruler.
PlayStation Network and Xbox Live users will also be able to download multiplayer maps and scenarios while a tutorial guide is included to aid newcomers to the franchise, which was first released for the PC in 1991.
"It's really exciting to bring the Civilization series to the console and handheld market in a whole new way," remarked Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games, which has produced the title.
"By starting the design from scratch, we were able to ensure Civilization Revolution has the fast paced aspect console gamers crave, while still delivering the strategic element fans of the series expect," he added.
In related news, video games producer Gimmick Entertainment has revealed combat title Animal Boxing is to be released for the Nintendo DS in the fourth quarter of the year.
