Age is no barrier to women enjoying 'young' fashion, according to a newspaper columnist.
Mirror writer Sue Carroll, who did not specify her age other than to say she had reached 50, said women should not be downhearted about their age but should treat themselves and enjoy looking good.
She admitted to still loving mini skirts and shopping in Topshop and New Look, despite the fact she knew she would no longer suit some fashions.
"You've got to be realistic," she wrote.
"But does that stop me browsing in Topshop or make me feel like a geriatric in New Look? No."
She used a list of celebrity examples such as Madonna and Christie Brinkley who were not deterred by the fact they were 50 or over.
Topshop has just launched its Emma Cook collection for spring to summer, featuring applique dresses and zebra prints.
This is the first collection by this designer in two years since she took time off to have a baby.
