Winning on a computer game produces primal rewarding feelings in men, it has been revealed.
According to a study by California's Stanford University where both sexes were analysed while playing a territorial game, men have more of a desire to succeed and conquer than their female counterparts.
The researchers claimed that both sexes had the ability to understand and play the game, but it was males who displayed more motivation to succeed.
"Most games that are really popular with males are territory and aggression-type games," claimed study leader Professor Allan Reiss. "And historically, the conquerors and tyrants of our species are males."
It was recently revealed that the PlayStation 2 console is currently outselling its successor the PlayStation 3.
Digital Spy reported that the PS2 sold 13.73 million units in retailers like Game and HMV in the 12 months leading up to March 31st, whereas the PS3 had sold 9.24 million.
