Logitech has developed a cordless keyboard for the Nintendo Wii.
Using 2.4 Ghz wireless technology, the keyboard can be activated by plugging a mini-receiver into the Wii and will make it easier for users to communicate with their friends and family, the company claims.
Logitech director of product marketing for gaming Ruben Mookerjee says the keybord will help enhance the social element of the games console that has so far proved popular with gamers.
"Our new keyboard helps families experience the Internet in the living room and it will make chatting with online friends simple in popular games, such as Animal Crossing," he adds.
The Logitech Cordless Keyboard for Wii is expected to be on sale in the US and Europe next month, at a suggested retail price of $49.99 (£25).
In other Wii-related news, a new Deal or No Deal video game is to be released for the console.
