A new high-definition camcorder described as a "handy solution" for people taking holidays is now available in the UK.
The Aiptek AHD 200 camcorder is small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of the user's hand and has the capacity to record both video and still images.
Web users will be enticed by the camera's DVD and CIF movie modes, the latter of which enables videos to be uploaded to sites such as YouTube.
In addition, the camera can support NTSC and PAL video formats and can connect to both standard and HD TV sets through component leads or composite cables.
The camera has the capacity to store up to 16 hours of video in .mov format, or up to 4,000 still images in jpeg format, which means it could be a good deal for travellers looking "to capture all those holiday moments without intruding into valuable luggage space", the manufacturer asserted.
Soon to be available for purchase at Tesco and Amazon, the camera also comes with an A/C adapter for optimised charging and a remote control.
Tesco also offers extended electrical cover for its camcorder items, which is valed for three years.
