Doritos has become the first company to send a television advert into outer-space.
The Doritos Broadcast Project invited the UK public to design an advert which would be beamed to Ursa Major, also known as the Great Bear.
Scientists say the Great Bear may harbour the conditions required for life, according to Science Daily.
The 29-second commercial created by Matt Bowron, which features a 'tribe' of Doritos sacrificing one of their own to the god of salsa, will take more than 40 years to reach its destination.
Peter Charles, Head of the Doritos Broadcast Project, said: "We are constantly looking to push the boundaries of advertising.
"We shouldn't be too surprised if the first aliens start arriving on planet Earth immediately demanding a bag of Doritos."
Matt Bowron won £20,000 for winning the competition and his stop motion advert was aired on national television on June 15th.
It was then fired into space from the EISCAT Space Centre in Svalbard with the help of Leicester University's department of physics and astronomy.
