Asus has unveiled the latest environmentally-friendly addition to its growing technology family with the new EcoBook laptop.
The new bamboo covered notebook series comes in 12.1-inch and 11.1-inch versions and the company claims "Organic tactility, refreshing scent and minimalist aesthetics" sepearates it from other laptops.
Asus said that its new EcoBook is helping to promote the "Green Computing Revolution" and claims the portable computers have "an arresting aura of spirituality, warmth and old world charm that synthetic materials and cold, impersonal metals will struggle to replicate".
Both laptops in the series come with 1,280 x 1,024 pixel screens and a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processors and Windows Vista.
And they both include Asus' power-saving Super Hybrid Engine technology, which the company states will increase battery life by up to 75 per cent when compared with similar laptops on the market.
The 12.1-inch version has a 256MB nVidia GeForce 9300 GS graphics card a 320GB hard drive and up to 4GB of Ram.
