Women will be taking fashion cues from Hollywood this year, as TV series and movies may influence style trends in 2008.
According to the Daily Mail, teen TV drama Gossip Girl - which is coming to ITV2 this spring - is already making waves in the US and features a signature look including a jacket, full skirt, and grown-up girly accessories including scarves and berets.
The programme is currently airing on the CW network in America starring fashionable blonde Blake Lively, who has previously appeared in the teen flick The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.
Meanwhile, at the cinema, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in Sweeney Todd could pave the way for a gothic revival, with Prada featuring flowing skirts and models with powdered hair in its spring 2008 campaigns.
Eco-clothing could also take off in 2008, according to the newspaper, with 27 Dresses star Katherine Heigl's character working for an eco-clothing brand and sporting a number of springtime classics, including tunic-style shift dresses and chiffon floral patterns.
The film is set for release in the UK in March.
