Gamers who place a pre-order for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will receive a free DVD, it has emerged.
Digital Spy reported that Konami will present a seven-part documentary detailing the history of former games in the series and the evolution of Metal Gear.
The Japanese games publisher responsible for the epic game claimed that it had made arrangements with several "key retail partners" in Britain for the delivery of the free DVDs.
"Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is rightly seen as the standout title for 2008 and we were determined to come up with something special for its launch," said Konami's European marketing director, Martin Schneider.
The game is set to be released on June 12th.
It also emerged this week that a limited edition collector's pack of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots including a CD soundtrack and an action figurine will be available on the release date at a number of retailers across the UK.
Game, Amazon.co.uk and HMV all sell a wide variety of games and consoles.
