News > Gadget confusion is rife in Britain

Confused Brits are struggling to get to grips with their feature-packed gadgets, according to new research.
Gadget comparison site Reevoo found that consumers are baffled by many of today's latest phones and cameras.
According to Reevoo, which compiled responses from 2,000 shoppers, one in four adults in Britain don't know how to operate a digital camera properly and a fifth don't understand many of the features on their mobile phone.
Chris Winstanley, a spokesman for Reevoo, said: "What this research shows is that lots of people actually just want ease of use, rather than the added extras that many of us find too complicated."
Other troubling gadgets were satnav systems, mp3 players, TV remotes and washing machines.
And nearly a third of Brits admitted losing their temper and throwing a baffling gadget across the room.
Where does this confusion come from? Perhaps its origin lies in the fact that more than two-thirds of people don't read the instruction manual before trying to use a new gadget.
