Electro dance act Goldfrapp have gone to the famous Abbey Road Studios to record the score for a biopic of the young John Lennon.
Titled Nowhere Boy, a play on the Beatles' song Nowhere Man, the film will star Aaron Johnson as Lennon alongside Kristin Scott-Thomas and Annie Marie-Duff in other roles.
It is directed by conceptual artist Sam Taylor-Wood, who has previously taken the helm of a short film called Love You More, taking the title from a Buzzcocks song of the same name.
The band wrote on their website: "I'm pleased I can now tell you about it (as it is official). We have written the score for a film called Nowhere Boy.
"It's truly amazing that they gave us the opportunity to do this. We are all really excited about going to Abbey Road studios soon to record the strings with the full orchestra."
Remastered versions of The Beatles' back catalogue and a Rock Band game made up of the Fab Four's songs recently prompted another wave of Beatlemania.
