A national newspaper has claimed that high heeled shoes are a top fashion tip for the spring and recommended a range of footwear to suit all feet - and pockets.
The Independent has published a "hot list" of the top heels for the season, with the calf-leather platforms from Christian Louboutin leading the list, though they will set back buyers around £435.
Other top-tipped shoes include the £215 patent peep-toe slingbacks from Mark Jacobs and the Quirky T-bars from Office for those interested in a bit of vintage glamour.
Those looking for a splash of colour may be attracted to the black and orange platforms by Pied a Terre, available for just under £100.
It also tips the Grey T-bars from Hobbs for £129, while those with a slightly smaller budget might fancy the Raffia wedge heels by Kew for £39.95.
Last week, an article in the Daily Telegraph claimed that the popularity of heeled shoes for men has risen as a result of the recent travels of diminutive French president Nicolas Sarkozy.
