Bargain code hunters may be happy to hear that Ikea is launching what it claims to be the cheapest pay-as-you-go sim-card package.
Ikea's Family Mobile deal, which is only available to Ikea Family members, offers UK calls at nine pence a minute and text messages at six pence each.
The Swedish furniture chain said that there are no minimum top-up requirements, no expiry date on credit, no monthly penalties and customers can keep their existing number.
It claims to be 25 per cent cheaper than any other pay-as-you-go-deal on the market.
Jason Baker, Ikea UK customer relationship marketing manager, said: "In the current climate where every penny counts, Ikea is offering another benefit to our loyal customers."
The firm has teamed up with Mobile Partners UK to offer the new pay-as-you-go sims, but they will not be available in Ikea stores and will have to be purchased through Mobile Partners UK at www.familymobile.co.uk.
Mobile Partners UK uses the T-Mobile network to provide its mobile services.
