News > 'Kodak fails on value for money'

Digital camera manufacturer Kodak has failed to offer value for money on its EasyShare Z8612 IS, one reviewer has claimed.
The eight-megapixel compact camera, which sports a 12x optical zoom, manual shutter operation for longer exposure and built-in image stabalisation is a potential alternative to other super-zoom models, cameras.co.uk states.
However, the positive aspects of the digital snapper are far outweighed by its unpredictable image quality, the reviewer said.
Commenting on the camera's placement in the compact market, the website said: "There are plenty of alternative super-zoom digital cameras around.
"If you are looking for an inexpensive super zoom camera try looking at the Fuji Finepix S1000fd."
The photography news provider pointed out the Finepix is cheaper and has a better image quality.
In related news, Kodak has put its latest EasyShare digital camera on show at the Photokina 2008 industry show in Cologne, Germany, according to the Photography Press.
