Microsoft is set to launch a new mouse which operates without a laser, it has been revealed.
According to Microsoft, consumers can "say goodbye to laser".
And it has been speculated that this product, to be unveiled on September 9th, may be part of a new Microsoft product line.
The German version of Amazon has reportedly broken the embargo on the mouse's technology by revealing the new version will use a blue LED which will work on more surfaces than existing red-light versions do.
It is also predicted the mouse will have five buttons and a mini USB receiver.
There have also been predictions that the wireless mouse will use Radio Frequency in place of Bluetooth to transmit information to the computer.
September 9th is also the date of the release of Apple's new product line-up and it has been predicted a new iPod Nano will be launched at the event.
