Mario Kart Wii, which enjoyed a record-breaking debut last week, is spending a second week atop the UK's all-formats games chart, it has emerged.
Digital Spy reported that while sales of the game dropped 22 per cent compared with last week, it has managed to hold onto the top spot for the second week of its release.
Meanwhile, another Mario game - Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - rose from number three to number two in the UK charts, while Gran Turismo 5: Prologue slipped into third place.
Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 held onto last week's number four spot, while Sega's Superstar Tennis jumped from number 11 to number five.
Other games in the top ten this week included Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
In related news, it emerged this week that the Aerosmith-themed next instalment of the Guitar Hero franchise may include the option to play other instruments or use vocals.
Citing Conde Nast Portfolio, Digital Spy reported that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will be released in July. The game will be available at a number of retailers, including HMV.
