This summer's hottest new trend is the retro maxi dress, it has been reported.
According to the Daily Mail, these full-length frocks are "glamorous, cool and easy to wear".
The newspaper claimed that this trend is a repeat of fashion from the 1970s and that many people may have the dresses stashed in their wardrobes.
"Tall girls can get away with more voluminous types, but petites should stick with slinkier styles to avoid being swamped," it advised. "If need be, have it taken up as dragging hemlines are a no-no."
It cited Rachel Bilson, Mary-Kate Olsen and Paris Hilton as just a few of the celebrities who have embraced the maxi-style fashion, adding that sandals and chunky bangles make the perfect accessories.
There is a leaf-print pattern maxi dress available from Evie at Peacocks, priced at £18, the newspaper reported.
Angelina Jolie has been spotted wearing various maxi dresses to cover her ever-growing baby bump while in Cannes.
