The PlayStation 2 is currently outselling the PlayStation 3 console, new sales figures have revealed.
Digital Spy reported this week that some 13.73 million units of the PlayStation 2 console were sold in the period ending March 31st, while a total of 9.24 million PlayStation 3 consoles were sold during this time.
However, this marks a year-on-year sales increase of 156 per cent for the PlayStation 3, while sales of the PlayStation 2 - which has been on the market for nearly eight years - slipped by seven per cent.
In other gaming news, new release Grand Theft Auto IV continues its reign across the UK all-formats games chart for the second week in a row.
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 copies of the game outsold former number one Wii Fit by four units to one, with 62 per cent of all copies sold on the Xbox 360 last week.
