Samsung has launched its new INNOV8 handset, its first mobile phone to feature an eight megapixel camera.
A dual LED flash is included with the autofocus device which is also capable of recording videos at 30 frames per second.
The camera includes smart reader, image stabilisers, smile shot, blink shot and face detection modes and software for editing images and videos is provided on the handset.
While 16GB of internal flash memory is provided, the S60 slider phone has a microSD card slot capable of supporting cards up to 16GB in size.
A 2.8-inch QVGA screen with 16 million colours, WiFi, support for HSDPA at 7.2 bps, Bluetooth 2.0 and built-in GPS also feature on the device.
FM radio and DNSe audio technology is included in addition to a 3.55 millimetre audio out jack which supports mp3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR and RealAudio formats.
"Samsung INNOV8 is made for tech-savvy users who wants to enjoy the best possible multimedia entertainment with their mobile phone," said Geesung Choi, president of Samsung Telecommunication Business.
For bargain code hunters interested in picking up the new handset, the phone will be launched in Europe during the August and will go on sale to the rest of the world in September.
