Japanese games developer Natsume is to release two new Harvest Moon games to celebrate the franchise's tenth anniversary.
Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness for the Nintendo DS and Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquillity for the Nintendo Wii will be on sale later this quarter, the company said.
The DS title will see players start a farm after being shipwrecked on a deserted island while the Wii game will require users to nurture an island that has fallen into disrepair.
Special tenth anniversary packaging will come with the games while Natsume is also to release a line of collectable toys, based on characters from the games.
"We couldn't be happier that the series has caught on with so many fans," commented Hiro Maekawa, president and chief executive of Natsume.
"It's their tremendous enthusiasm and support that has kept the series growing and evolving over these past ten years," she added.
The company will also release an exclusive tenth anniversary Harvest Moon DS Lite Kit comprising of protective cover, stylus and screen wipe.
