New Start-rite website helps parents measure children's feet

A new website to help parents accurately measure their children's feet before they order footwear online has been launched by children's shoe maker Start-rite.

Parents are provided with a free downloadable paper gauge, featuring length and width indicators and advice on how to measure their children's feet and fit shoes on Startriteshoes.com, money off code holders may be interested to know.

The website also gives parents the option of purchasing a plastic gauge and measuring tape, similar to that used in the retailer's stores.

After measuring their child's feet, they then input the length of the longer foot and the width of the wider foot into the website and are provided with the correct shoe size.

"The fitting tool options are very easy to use, giving parents who choose to shop online the reassurance that the shoes will fit and that they are giving their children the best possible alternative to having shoes professionally fitted in-store," explained David Attwood, joint managing director at Start-rite Shoes.

In related news, a range of children's shoes that increase in size as the wearer's feet grow have been released by Fat Shoes Day.

Inchworm shoes can be extended by two half shoes sizes by pressing a button on the side of the shoe and pulling the toe out to the required length.
