Nokia announced it will have a touch screen mobile phone on the market to rival the iPhone by the end of the year.
The firm has been working on a touch screen model for a while and gave mobile phone fans a glimpse of the new design at the GoPlay event in 2007.
When questioned about the similarity in design of the new phone with Apple's iPhone, Nokia's executive vice president Anssi Vanjoki told engadget: "If there is something good in the world then we copy it with pride."
The phone will be based on existing S60, but will be radically re-designed for simplicity and ease of use.
Nokia has also been working on its new Music Store, an online service to rival iTunes, which went live in Sweden on May 20th, which allows users to download and stream music on their mobile handset.
Nokia told Pocket Lint it launches 50-60 new handsets every year, and is expecting to sell more than half a billion phones in 2009.
