A new MySims game containing online features is set to be released for the PC.
The title, which was originally launched for the Nintendo Wii and DS, sees players create characters, build a town and create a community.
In the new PC game, players will be able to construct buildings and objects to use and exchange with up to seven friends over the internet, the title's developer Electronic Arts (EA) has said.
Due to be released throughout Europe on October 24th, the new title will also enable players to chat and play games such as tag and hide-and-seek online, the company added.
Rob Humble, head of studio for The Sims label, said: "With MySims, made for the PC, it's a whole new world of interaction with personalised creations, buildings and towns to share, along with furniture and other tailored creations that you and your friends can trade."
In related news, EA Sports has confirmed 250 additions to its new FIFA 09 video game.
Due to be released in the autumn, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the title will allow players to customise the game to suit their styles and abilities, an EA statement said.
