Pyjama pants are once again at the forefront of fashion, one expert has claimed a trend dedicated followers of fashion with money off vouchers may be pleased to know.
Stephanie Rafanelli, writing for the Daily Mail, says the comfortable, flattering trousers, which first appeared in the 1920s, "are the sophisticated take on the 'just-got-out-of-bed' look".
The "relaxed elegance" of the trousers, which are also known as palazzo pants, was resurrected for the spring and summer 2008 catwalks, she adds.
According to Clare Coulson, fashion features editor of Harper's Bazaar, the return of palazzo pants, "signals a move away from the dominance of skinny jeans to a much fuller trouser which goes into next season".
"It's also about the entrance of a new sophisticated sex appeal. There's something chic and elegant about a woman wearing men's pyjamas," she told the newspaper.
Pyjama-style trousers have been showcased on catwalks by designers including Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Prada and Stella McCartney.
Meanwhile, baggy jeans also look set to make a return with celebrities including Kylie Minogue and Victoria Beckham spotted wearing flared styles.
Trousers similar to those worn by Farrah Fawcett in Charlie's Angels, have been featured in collections for next autumn and winter, the Daily Mail has reported.
