A television remote with built-in mouse control has been unveiled, it has been reported.
Targeted at people who watch films and DVDs on their computer, the remote has a multi-direction button which allows them to move the mouse around their screen.
Fully customisable, the Bluetooth device is compatible with Mircrosoft's Windows 2000, XP and Vista operating systems.
The remote also has four quick-start buttons which allow users to open popular applications on their desktop, like WinDVD, Windows Media Player, PowerDVD and RealPlayer.
In related news, a Japanese firm has developed a mouse which also acts as a TV remote.
The Eizo-C@T-one has a built-in tilt sensor, which means it can be used separately as a television remote and as a mouse.
With a transmission range of ten metres, the product, which uses infra-red to communicate with most televisions, has nine TV controls built-in including on, off, channel and volume controls.
