Samsung's touchscreen Omnia phone is set to go head-to-head against Apple's new 3G iPhone this July, reports the Biosmagazine.
Offering Mobile 6.1 technology from Windows, the phone is equipped with a 3.2-inch screen that functions in the similar way to the iPhone, allowing users to select options simply by touching the product's display surface and dragging operational icons.
Omnia will also offer, among other features, GPS capability, FM Radio, Wi-Fi and a five-megapixel camera.
Thanks to the compatibility with Microsoft Windows, the Samsung phone will also allow users to access standard PC-based tools such as Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
The phone, which will be available with both 8GB and 16GB of memory, will initially be launched in Korea, with a European launch set for some time in July. It will be be priced at which priced at $200 (£102) and $300 respectively.
Samsung's competition - Apple's iPhone - is set to be released on July 11th.
