Sony has unveiled the latest addition to its famous Bravia range with the world's slimmest and lightest LCD TV.
The new 40-inch TV set, which has a depth of 9.9mm and weighs just 12.2Kg, goes on sale in Japan this November for just under £2,500.
Sony's latest Bravia is fully high-definition with a resolution of 1080p and the dimensions of the screen are kept down by using wireless technology to beam the video signal to the screen.
The KDL-40ZX1 has a 3000:1 contrast ratio and comes with a wireless box, which supplements the single HDMI on the TV itself with a plethora of connections including three HDMI ports, a LAN socket and a USB port.
Sony is expected to announce the winner of a multi-million pound bid for the firm's global Bravia advertising contract.
Fallon, which produced Sony's pan-European award-winning Bravia adverts, is expected to take on the worldwide contract.
