Samsung has re-launched its 1.8-inch, 120GB portable external hard disk drive.
The technology firm released its Spinpoint N2 hard drive, which was the first of its size to break the one terabyte barrier, last year.
It was thought the device, which is no bigger than a credit card, would be used in iPods and mobile phones.
The new version of Samsung's Spinpoint drive comes in a new black case and has a built-in retractable USB connector so it can be easily connected to any USB-ready device and used in a similar way to a flash memory stick.
Costing £160, the one terabyte drive can read data at 27MB per second and write it at 23MB, making it almost as quick as a solid state USB memory card.
Flash memory is the most common type of memory used in portable storage devices and has no moving parts.
The largest flash memory devices on the market have a capacity of 64GB.
