High street retailer Topshop has won a new fashion award in a consumer poll, it has emerged.
The InStyle Shopping Awards have named the store as the Best High Street Shop, based on reader votes.
According to the magazine, Topshop was selected as the favourite retail destination on the high street because "it nails everything from basics to denim to the edgiest must-haves".
Stylist Yasmin Sewell added that she loves that the store supports London Fashion Week events and new designers and stated: "It's the best at translating high-end trends for the high street".
The Press Association reported that the clothing group was honoured with the best high street shop award for the second year in a row, while the Manchester Selfridges store was also singled out for its personal shopping advice and designer accessories.
Other retailers honoured by InStyle's 2008 Shopping Awards - which appear in the May issue of the magazine - include Marks & Spencer as the best shop for lingerie, as well as designer labels Chanel and Marc Jacobs.
