Travellers planning a summer holiday may wish to consider opting for a destination outside the eurozone, new research from Post Office has suggested.
According to the group's annual Holiday Costs Barometer report, holiday commodities such as sun cream and a bottle of Coca-Cola cost less in destinations such as Thailand, South Africa, Egypt and the United States than they did in many countries that use the euro.
In addition, Post Office head of travel Helen Warburton claimed that with the promise of cheaper flights to American destinations thanks to the Open Skies agreement and the strength of the pound against the US dollar, the country may be a good option for tourists in the coming months.
Travel planning website Expedia.co.uk is currently offering a deal where consumers can save up to 40 per cent on a hotel booking in Las Vegas made through the site.
Holidaymakers can take advantage of the online deal - which includes selected stays in the city until December 25th 2008 - until May 16th.
