Several Hollywood actors have turned up to mourn the recent death of famous film director John Hughes.
The filmmaker (pictured), who directed iconic 80s movies such as Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, passed away from a heart attack aged 59 last week.
Broderick, who played the title character in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, was joined by fellow actors Vince Vaughn and Ben Stein at the funeral service, which took place in the suburbs of Chicago.
Stein, who also appeared in the classic comedy, said: "We'll never see his like again. He was the Wordsworth of the suburban America post-war generation. He was a great, great, great genius and as much of a friend and a great family man as he was a poet."
It was revealed last month that Broderick and his wife, Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, would be living apart, despite the recent birth of twins.
