Bargain code hunters may be interested to know that demand for the new Apple iPhone was so great that O2 sold out online this week.
The carrier announced that, ahead of the phone's official launch on Friday, it had sold out after initial interest from customers crashed its website on Tuesday.
According to Reuters, a spokesman for O2, said: "We'd done everything we could to cope with high demand but on that scale our website did struggle."
It is thought during the period of peak activity, the company's website was dealing with 13,000 people per second, the news provider reports.
"The experience wasn't as smooth as we'd have liked it to be," the spokesman added.
Apple's new handset boasts 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping and features Microsoft Exchange.
The manufacturer claims that it combines "three products in one"; a mobile phone, widescreen iPod and an internet device.
