Make His Valentine’s Day with Ann Summers

Over the past years you will have been lavished with gifts as you are adored and cherished on Valentine’s day. But now, thanks to Ann Summers, you can give back on what is the most loving (read passionate) day of the year. Of course, I won’t be wearing any of the lingerie, but that’s because I am a man and that would just be weird…

But this doesn’t mean I won’t be hoping to enjoy some of the great merchandise that Ann Summers has to offer.

Whether you are female and you are buying a treat for the man in your life, or a man who has decided to treat the woman in his life with a gift that ultimately benefits you, Ann Summers is the right choice. And MyVoucherCodes are offering 10% off all orders over £50 on the run up to Valentine’s day, which means that you have the chance to plan ahead and make a night of it.

If your relationship struggles in that department and you have seen more passion in a bowl of fruit, then worry not. There is a great selection in their dress up range, spanning from maids uniforms to police outfits. You are sure to find something that will let your imagination run wild…

However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the fun has to stop at lingerie. There is a wide range of accessories which can be enjoyed throughout the year. So why not pounce at this offer (among other things) and make this Valentine’s day one to truly remember. After all, love is great; passion is better.

Top Romantic Destinations: Embrace The Many Arms of Octopus Travel

There are two type of people when it comes to Valentine’s day. You have those who believe that it is a day that should be spent exchanging gifts, and there are those who believe the day should involve an experience in which you can share. Of course, there is a third type of person that doesn’t actually celebrate Valentine’s day – but these are the Scrooge’s of February 14 and thus, are non applicable for Cupid’s arrow.

So with this being the case, surely the best gift you can give somebody is the opportunity to experience something new…

There is a rumour which suggests that romance is dead. But we here at MyVoucherCodes believe that it isn’t dead, it’s just sleeping and can be found in any of our Top Romantic Destinations which are available for 55% off at Octopus travel.

Barcelona

Barcelona’s beauty and reputation, which are envied by all other cities, is only shadowed by its popularity. This city offers something for both sides of the relationship; but be careful, the song of the Camp Nou  is a call that no man can resist. Fear not, though, a quick visit to the Sagrada Familia will soon erase any memory of being dragged around the Meccah of football stadiums.

Be sure to leave plenty of time to fully enjoy the highlife of Barcelona as a couple of days just isn’t enough; apparently. Even the hotels offer unsurpassable beauty and comfort.

The Catalonia Corcega places you within walking distance of lustrous boutiques and Gaudi delights, while  Hotel Albeniz is just minutes away from the city’s famous cathedral, Sagrada Familia.

If you prefer a more old-fashioned or stylish venue, then why not stay at Catalonia Berna or Hotel Torre Catalunya, which each offer beauty and style in abundance.

Rome

RomeRome is a stunning city that combines both past and present, modern and old. No matter how long you are in Rome, you will experience the world’s largest open air museum. Whether you opt for the well planned tourist routes, or the more hidden and secluded paths, you will discover history and beauty.

Make sure you have your camera ready, as this is a city that is naturally photogenic. Be sure to visit St Peter’s Square, The Vatican, Spanish Steps, Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and many more of the great sights on a seemingly endless list. Relish in unforgettable sightseeing, endulge in romance, enjoy authentic food, hot fashion and lap up the culture in this incredible city.

Paris

Paris is world renowned for being the most romantic city on the planet, so it is with no surprise that it attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year. ’La Ville-Lumière’, or The City of Light, derives its nickname as a centre of education and ideas during the Age of Enlightenment, and later to its early adoption of street lighting. You may also have heard of the nickname ‘The Illuminated City’, but to many it is the City of Love.

Despite having never been to the city, I am aware of the attractions that should be visited; the Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, the banks of the Seine, The Louvre, the Acre de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysees, etc.

However, I suggest exploring the magic of the city that’s hidden down the side streets and avenues. While this isn’t where you will turn to find a world famous landmark, you will be able to experience the locality and traditions of the city.

Friday Night is Domino’s Night

Friday night is most certainly Domino’s night. By that, I don’t mean double sixes or joining congruent squares together. Instead, what I am talking about is coming home from a hard week at work, slipping into something comfortable and curling in front of the TV while watching films and eating pizza.

Having recently made a new years resolution to live a healthier lifestyle, I would be condemned as cheating were I to indulge in a large pizza with garlic bread, chicken kickers, and cookies all washed down with a Diet Coke. But just because I am unable to enjoy Domino’s night doesn’t mean you have to accompany my misery.

To say I am not tempted would be an extreme understatement. In fact, the mere thought of the heavenly smells emanating from the pizza box – revealing velvet cheese perched on a golden base is a lure that calls to me like a Siren. In truth, it probably is a temptation that will prove to be too hard to resist. But, I am allowed a cheat day, right?

However, ordering takeaway – despite it being an easy option – doesn’t offer much security in terms of saving the pennies in an inflated market. But… here is the great thing… we have that base covered.

Long gone are the days of having to look through a takeaway menu and limit what you can order due to a budget. Now thanks to – you guessed it – MyVoucherCodes, you can order as much as you like in the knowledge that everything over £25 will be reduced by £10.

Basically what this means if you no longer have to worry about what you are spending. Instead, you can simply order that little bit extra; safe in the knowledge that it won’t actually cost you anything more. Great, isn’t it?

But hurry, the deal expires this Sunday (30/01/11). And of course, *T&C‘s apply.

To make the most of this offer, simply enter MVCMKXFY at the Domino’s pizza checkout.

Alternatively, you may not want to order copious amounts of food just to save money. If this is the case, then why not buy one pizza and get 2 sides or deserts for free? Whatever you do, make sure you enjoy a slice for me. Yummy!

*Not valid with any other offer and you must spend a minimum of £25 to receive £10 off.
Redemption online only. Offer ends Midnight Sunday 30th Jan 2011
Subject to availability. Valid at participating stores only.

Are You A Trendsetter or Trend Follower?

Once again the New Year is upon us, which means another year of a fashion over haul. Some of us will be waiting on tender hooks until the sales are finally over, so that we can immerse ourselves in the crisp new collections that are crying to be tried out. Yet, just as many of us will be quivering in last year’s boots at the thought of yet more potential fashion disasters, when the next ‘big thing’ unfortunately doesn’t compliment our figure.

So the question is: Will you be a trendsetter or a trend follower in 2011?

Some of us may be shrugging our shoulders giving off the ‘I don’t care about fashion’ attitude – but let’s be honest, most of us want to be noticed! Being a trend follower is easy, as all it requires us to do is wear what everyone else is wearing – simple. Well actually no, because this is when fashion disasters happen.

Do you remember some of the ladies in harem pants last year? Skydiving without a parachute was finally made possible! Or do you remember the guys in cut off trousers and boat shoes? Poor socks were made redundant! This is the problem with following fashion; unfortunately not all of the latest trends are going to suit us, yet some of us go ahead and do it anyway.

As for you trendsetters out there, good on you for your creative flair and confidence. There’s nothing quite like taking a trend and customising it to our individual needs. This way, we can keep up with the fashion, but still style it to suit our shape – perfect. Well it would be perfect if trendsetters did get it right every time; but unfortunately for some, this is not always the case.

We’ve all been guilty of staring at people due to their outrageous outfit that sadly for them has encouraged the wrong attention. Is it possible that any of us would want to be one of these fashion horror shows, who knowingly offends other people’s eyes?

Actually don’t answer that!

Ultimately it’s all about balance and working with our bodies, not against them; so let’s try and make 2011 a year of fabulous fashion! Here is a little heads up for what’s in store for this year’s trends: ladies – high waisted callots teamed with a loose tucked in shirt, and tapered trousers complimented with brogues. Gents – chinos tucked nicely into ankle boots, and cotton twill jeans with a plain almost fitted tee.

Good luck working ‘the look’ this year peeps! xxx

Ophiuchus: The New 13th Zodiac Sign

Until this morning I was a Pisces, or at least, I was under the impression that I was. But now a recent study has thrown my entire 24-year existence into doubt after reading of astronomer Parke Kunkle’s claim that the Earth’s position has changed vis-a-vis the Sun in the last 3,000 years.

This  means that the old way of judging astrological signs, which was over 3,00 years ago, has become outdated making room for Ophiuchus; and dictates the course of many events.

However, many astrologers are now debating the topic which would need more complicated calculations in order to work out the change in dates, as opposed to the pre-set computer-based Zodiac predictions.

Kunkle, board member of the Minnesota Planetarium Society, says: “Because of this change of tilt, the Earth is really over here in effect and Sun is in a different constellation than it was 3,000 years ago.”

Ophiuchus are said to be honest, intellectual, sexually magnetic, prone to change, jealous and require special attention to understand. But the introduction of the new sign, which would fall between Scorpio and Sagittarius, has angered those who take astrology seriously and are opposed to such a drastic and immediate change to the Zodiac calendar.

Other serious – and perhaps more dramatic – astrologers fear that the insertion of a 13th Zodiac sign may bring about the doomsday predictions of 2012, while some are more that their star sign has changed; including myself.

But Susan Miller believed that Kunkle has made an error in mistaking astronomy for astrology – the study of planet opposed to starts:

“We’ve known about this for ages. The constellations don’t suggest what’s coming up, it’s the planets! The constellations are a measuring device,”

And Rick Levine backed up the comments from his fellow astronomer by saying:

“It’s not an Astrology issue. It has to do with the stars — it’s not a sign, it’s a constellation,”

So, does the change effect you? Why not take a quick look by the chart drawn up by IBN Live.
